MO farmer expects continued bullish markets
A west-central Missouri farmer is expecting a continued bullish market. Daniel Carpenter tells Brownfield it comes down to weather.
“All over the country, from lack of rain fall in the north to some flooded areas to our south and east a little bit,” he said.
He tells Brownfield widespread less than ideal weather conditions might limit quality acreage at harvest.
“While yields might be close to average or maybe a little bit above and commodity prices are good, there’re going to be some short falls on really just total acres harvested this year,” Carpenter said. “And I think that’s going to be the tale of the tape by the time everything’s wrapped up later on this year.”
But Carpenter said there’s a good market opportunity now for farmers to sell some corn and soybeans.
