Social giving startup Give InKind has raised another $500,000 as it inks deals with hospitals and healthcare systems.
The Tacoma, Wash.-based startup hosts a platform to make the giving process easier for the family and friends helping those in need of meals and other necessities in difficult life situations.
The company now has partnerships with hospitals and is being offered to patients through a variety of touchpoints, said CEO Laura Malcolm. It started with Tacoma-based Multicare, at nine hospitals and 250 clinics, and has expanded its reach nationwide with four other healthcare systems in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Missouri.
The new funding will also help Give InKind launch paid consumer and enterprise features on its platform.
Over the past year, Give InKind has tripled its user base and increased revenue tenfold, Malcolm said. The platform gained popularity amid the pandemic.
The funding round was led by Narrows Capital, Tacoma Venture Fund and the Female Founders Alliance. Give InKind is a graduate of FFA’s Ready Set Raise program.
Total funding to date is $2.9 million. The company has 10 employees.
Give InKind also recently started participating in the Blackbaud Social Good Startup program, a program for software companies focused on solving community problems.
