“Build it and they will come” (Field of Dreams).

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

To the Editor, Hoptown Chronicle

We built it; a small group of volunteers built The Breaking Bread Community Dinner Church. Since our opening meal and worship on Christmas Day, they came, we have served more than 1,000npeople. We continue to pass out to-go meals from 5 to 5:30 each Thursday evening, at the Aaron McNeil House on the corner of Second Street and Campbell Avenue. Our numbers have increased each week as the COVID-19 isolation continues. We will be expanding our hours beginning May 9 as we will serve from 5 to 6 p.m.

We have been struggling financially and after much prayer, I sent out a distress letter asking for financial help or food donation. God does answer prayer, and we have received both cash and food. Our cup does not quite “runneth, over,” but we are so very grateful for the donations we have received. Thank you.

In the future, if it continues to be in God’s plan, we would like to perhaps start a Sunday evening dinner and Bible study. If you would like to help us out in any way with food, financially, or physically, by just coming to dine with us (when we can gather again) and share your Christian love, please contact me, Donna Williams, dwilliams945@gmail.com or call 773-848-5113.

Some of our donors have wished to help anonymously and you may do so by either sending your donations to Saint John United Methodist Church, 2808 S. Virginia St., or you may drop off your gift at The Mixer restaurant located on 114 E. 6th St.

Joshua said, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)

Jesus said, “What you do for the least of these you do for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

“Feed my sheep.” (John 21:17)

Thank you for your support. Stay safe, healthy and blessed,

Donna Williams, Director

Breaking Bread Community Dinner Church, 608 Second St., Hopkinsville Ky 42240
