Sierra Nevada Realtors give time, donations back to rural communities - Carson Now

Earlier this month, members of Sierra Nevada Realtors spent time improving their communities all throughout the region. The annual Realtors Give Back event was special this year because it also included areas outside of Carson City. Members participated in community service as a group in Dayton and gave a generous monetary donation to the Fallon Youth Club and to the Boys and Girls Club of Carson City.

A group of local Dayton agents spent the day repainting the fence at the Dayton Solidarity Garden, which is run by the non-profit organization Healthy Communities. This is where the weekly Farmer’s Market is held.

Jody Foley, broker at RE/MAX Professionals in Dayton, was excited to be part of the day. “The best part about the day was that we were able to do a little work for an important local community service organization and have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with the local Realtors in our area. It was so good to work together and have fun reconnecting,” she said.

Those in attendance at Realtors Give Back in Dayton were:

Robert Bartshe (RE/MAX Professionals)
Mauricio Pierott (RE/MAX Professionals)
Jody Foley (RE/MAX Professionals)
Linda Bendle (Coldwell Banker Select Real Estate) Leandra Carr (Lahontan Properties)
Lisa Massey (Lahontan Properties)
Erica Gonzales (RE/MAX Professionals)
Christie Fernquest (Valley Realty & Management) Crystal Sandoval (RE/MAX Professionals)
Scot Walker (RE/MAX Professionals)

Later that day, members of Sierra Nevada Realtors met with representatives of the Fallon Youth Club to present a $1,000 donation to the organization. SNR also donated $500 to the Boys and Girls Club of Carson City. SNR is proud to contribute to the care and well-being of local youth.

Meanwhile, members and affiliates in Carson spent the day repainting the wall on College Parkway spanning from Granite Bay to Imperial Way. Claudia Saavedra, President of SNR, was proud to see members taking the time to help their community.

“Realtors Give Back is an amazing opportunity to give back to our communities — to show we care and that we’re a part of them! This year, Carson City Realtors partnered up with Sherwin Williams, who donated all of the paint and supplies needed to repaint the wall on College Parkway, from Granite Way to Imperial Way. We had a group of Realtors and affiliates who worked really hard and took pride in what they accomplished. All the remaining supplies were donated to the Carson City Public Works for future street maintenance,” Claudia said.

SNR is deeply rooted in the rural communities of Northern Nevada and is proud to have participated in a day of giving back to those communities. Serving these three communities simultaneously is at the core of the organization’s mission every day of the year — not just for the annual Realtors Give Back event.
