CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns have had a tough go running the ball for the most part in the first half against Washington and its vaunted defensive line.
Nick Chubb found a way to break through, cutting back away from the run defense for a 16-yard touchdown in the second quarter to give the Browns a 10-7 lead.
Chubb cut back behind the block of Jedrick Wills Jr., juked out Washington safety Landon Collins and ran through a few tackles on his way to the end zone. This was Chubb’s third rushing touchdown of the season after he had a pair in Week 2 against the Bengals.
His TD was set up after Karl Joseph picked off Dwayne Haskins. After the end of a long return, Joseph fumbled. But Tavierre Thomas recovered to keep possession for the Browns.
