All of our Aspen and Roaring Fork Valley nonprofits can use a little help anytime of year. But if you’re looking for something out side of the holiday box, check out what some of them said when we asked: “What’s on your Wish List this year?”

Lucky Day Animal Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit with the mission to save the lives of animals and enrich the lives of people. We are always looking for foster homes and financial support for vetting. Thank you and Happy Holidays! http://www.luckydayrescue.org

Pathfinders, a local nonprofit providing counseling and support for serious illness and grief and loss, requests either donations to provide counseling for those in need or grocery (or other) gift cards to give to our families with financial need. The Buddy Program has a HIGH need for more mentors in Aspen, Basalt and Carbondale. There are more than 30 youth on our current waitlist, and they are all SO excited to have a Big Buddy! http://www.buddyprogram.org

Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter would love for you to visit the Aspen Animal Shelter and spend some quality time with the homeless pets. The shelter is open every day of the year from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. http://www.aspenanimalshelter.com

Aspen Historical Society seeks snowboards for the AHS Archives, including these specific models to round out our collection: K2 Eco Pop Women’s snowboard, the K2 Mix Girl’s Lichtenstein Graphic Women’s snowboard, Burton Cruise or Cruzer snowboards, and Sims Extreme Outer Limits snowboard. The Shining Stars Foundation is delivering HOPE for the holidays! Help us by contributing new, unwrapped gifts or toys, or a cash donation, at http://www.ShiningStarsFoundation.org !

Challenge America is looking to underwrite shipping costs for 40 guitars decorated by local artists to participants in our music therapy programs serving veterans with PTSD. We also seek support for our national community of 2,200-plus veteran artists, like hosting an art workshop or donations. http://www.challengeamerica.com

Aspen Youth Center is looking for the volunteers to teach cooking, art, science or other special skills. We are also looking for donations to subsidize the cost of academic support for youth in fourth through 12th grade who cannot afford those services. http://www.aspenyouthcenter.org

Aspen Chapel is looking for warm socks, scarves, beanie hats, gloves, chocolate, or money to buy them to support those who are homeless and staying in our Night Shelter over the winter. Send an email to nicholas@aspenchapel.org . (The Chapel also needs housing for its Chaplain and family.)

Habitat for Humanity of the Roaring Fork Valley is looking for community volunteers who would be interested in building alongside our homebuyers and the professional Habitat build team. This is a great team building experience for businesses, clubs, organizations, and families too. Also, we would greatly appreciate consideration when making year end monetary gifts and/or furniture donations. Learn more at HabitatRFV.org

WindWalkers Equine Assisted Learning & Therapy Center wishes to “keep butts (kids and adults) in the saddle and feedbags full.” Our Holiday Wish List has supplements, grain, muck forks, wheelbarrows, sensory games, tack, reins, helmets and fencing; therefore, contributions of all sizes are welcome at WindWalkers.org .

Roaring Fork Leadership (RFL) strengthens the community by developing leaders and increasing civic capacity so that we can effectively impact and solve our social issues and create a thriving and healthy community. RFL’s wish is to provide our programming to everyone, regardless of their financial ability, therefore asking for scholarship contributions totaling $12,000 rfleadership.org

Bridging Bionics Foundation’s Wish List includes a used or new treadmill, Pilates reformer and Pilates Split Pedal Low Chair. Our physical therapists and clients would be most grateful for these items to help us keep giving the gift of mobility.

Sacred Cycle helps survivors of sexual abuse and assault heal through mountain biking and community engagement. Your donation will help fund evidenced-based therapy for our 2022 clients. As your locally based aviation conservation group, EcoFlight provides your “eyes in the sky” to educate Roaring Fork Valley students, community leaders and the media on landscape, water and climate issues, and to provide immediate documentation of environmental emergencies.
