Packers Give Back and the NFL have donated more than 400 protective practice helmet covers to 18 high school teams in Wisconsin, including 14 public schools in Milwaukee and four in Green Bay.

The helmet covers, called Guardian Caps, are aimed at reducing impacts during practice. The one-size-fits-all helmet covers help prevent wear and tear on helmets, and also assist in dampening sound waves, vibrations and blows.

Each recipient school will receive 24 helmet covers to use during practices and drills.

The donation is part of Green Bay Packers Give Back and the Packers football outreach efforts, which promote and serve youth and high school football programs around Wisconsin and work to make the game safer and more accessible for youth and high school athletes. The gift was also made possible through a donation from the NFL and Guardian Caps.

Packers Give Back is the team's all-encompassing community outreach initiative that includes the Green Bay Packers Foundation, appearances made by players, alumni, coaches and staff, football outreach, cash and in-kind donations, Make-A-Wish visits, and community events. The annual overall charitable impact of Packers Give Back exceeds $9 million.
