TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and mild with lows in the low 70s. Staying muggy.
TOMORROW: Increasing clouds, slight chance of a few showers or storms. Highs in the upper 80s to around 90 with a heat index between 95-96.
EXTENDED: Clouds begin to increase Thursday and Friday ahead of what's left of Hurricane Laura, which is expected to track north, just west of the Mississippi River Thursday into Friday. A few of the outer bands of the storm system could bring a few showers to Mid-Missouri on Thursday, but the majority of the rainfall will come on Friday across far southeast Missouri, mainly south of I-44. Scattered showers are possible on Friday for areas along and south of I-70. Friday night into Saturday, a cold front will drop in from the north, bringing temperatures back into the low 80s for highs. Rain look to hold off for much of the weekend until late Sunday night when the front pushes back north as a warm front. Widespread showers and thunderstorms will be possible Monday through Wednesday as the associated cold front stalls out over our area. This will keep temperatures in the low 80s and give us anywhere from 1-3" of total rainfall through Wednesday night.
