Shortstop Carlos Correa had a scheduled day off Sunday, and Astros manager Dusty Baker the rest of the lineup will get days off during an upcoming road series against the Diamondbacks or upon the team’s return to Houston next week.
Designated hitter Michael Brantley, who was suffering from leg and ankle soreness, was off Saturday and returned Sunday to the lineup. After a Monday day off and a three-day series with the Diamondbacks beginning Tuesday, Baker said he will go with the full lineup for a weekend series at Oakland before returning home.
Baker also said he has yet to set the rotation for the Diamondbacks series and held out the possibility that lefthander Framber Valdez could get a start in Phoenix, pending whether he was needed Sunday to boost the understaffed bullpen.
