The news is chock-filled with coronavirus talk as the infection rate continues to surge in Florida, but today Disney will be part of that news discussion with the official reopening of two more of its parks – Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom reopened last Saturday, and today July 15, Hollywood Studios and Epcot will welcome its visitors with smiles behind masks.
This all happens as Hong Kong Disneyland will close its park again after 50 new cases of coronavirus appeared in the country. Disneyland Paris is still set to follow through with its reopening after being closed for four months.
All guests at Disney’s parks over the age of 2 will be required to wear a face masks, and there will be a host of other changes when guests enter the Central Florida theme parks, including temperature checks, cleaning stations, and social distancing markings everywhere lines typically take place.
When entering Disney parks, guests passes or magic bands will be scanned, and the finger print scanning we’re all used to seeing with not be used.
All this is happening while Florida continues to see large numbers of new COVID-19 cases, but with many people still hesitant to be in large crowds, even when managed well – as Disney is capable of doing… the “happiest place in the world” is still likely to see small crowds today and for the foreseeable future.
