DANBURY — The pre-trial hearing of the New York man accused of intimidating and assaulting a witness in a homicide investigation has been continued to Sept. 17.
David Leslie Beers, 34, of North Salem, N.Y., is facing witness intimidation, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree assault and threatening charges after allegedly dragging a person with his van in Danbury back in February.
The victim had provided a sworn statement to detectives, which helped lead to the arrest of Danbury resident David Ramos in the shooting death of a Brewster man last year.
Police said they believe Beers assaulted the witness as retaliation for providing information to the detectives.
Beers is behind held on $150,000 bond at the Bridgeport Correctional Center.
