Surface Map

Good evening… it was another steamy one across the region today. However, we got a break from the really high humidity thanks to some cooler air from Lake Michigan being pulled into the region. As a result, we saw slightly lower dew points, which meant lower humidity.

Unfortunately, there appears to be little change in our pattern for the next few days. We can thank a block in the upper atmosphere.

Tonight's Forecast

Tonight's Lows North

As we head into tonight, look for another muggy night under a mostly clear sky. Overnight lows will fall into the middle and upper 60s, with some slightly cooler readings in our traditional cool spots. Unfortunately, light to calm winds will do little to add any relief to the muggy conditions.

Tomorrow's Forecast

Tomorrow's Highs South

Tomorrow's High North

The heat is on again tomorrow. Look for sunshine and highs in the middle 80s to near 90. Dew points in the middle 60s to lower 70s will make it feel between 90 and 95 degrees. Again, light to calm winds will provide little relief from the heat. Once again, we could see a stray shower or t-storm in spots to add some brief relief, but most areas look to remain dry.

8 Day Forecast

Looking ahead… get ready for a hot and steamy 4th of July holiday weekend. We can expect partly to mostly sunny skies both Saturday and Sunday, with highs in the middle 80s to lower 90s. Unfortunately, dew points will remain well into the 60s to lower 70s. As a result, look for a hot and humid weekend. And yes, there will be slight chances of showers and t-storms both days. With high instability, but weak forcing and shear, the threat for any severe weather looks low.

Unfortunately, the heat and humidity will hang around through much of next week. Look for highs to continue from the middle 80s to lower 90s at times. However, a frontal boundary will meander into the area, then stall somewhere near the region. The result will be an uptick in our shower and t-storm chances. It won’t rain all day every day, however, you will want to keep an umbrella handy for much of next week.

Have a great night and stay cool! -WKBT Cory Malles
