Reader's View: We give government too much power - Duluth News Tribune

Our country has a constitution based on Judeo/Christian principles. We need to be moral people who listen to one another. We need to respect diverse opinions.

Unfortunately, Democrats come off as dictators. They have a history of reckless spending. A huge bill was passed as COVID-19 relief, but far too much of it is pork-barrel spending that has nothing to do with pandemic.

The book, “Rules for Radicals,” by Saul Alinsky, advocates overspending to make us dependent on government. Our freedoms would then be history. Freedom of speech is already practically gone, it seems. Schools seem to be indoctrinating children into socialism. Big Tech and this newspaper are censoring conservative viewpoints.

Did you know tax refunds will be delayed this year? The government is robbing citizens to pay for its overspending. Do you want to be able to choose your health care or do you want it dictated by government? Do you want government telling you whether you can go to church? Do you want government in charge of which businesses can be open? How many jobs have already been lost because of executive orders? Do you want government telling you to get vaccines?

Wealthy people are robbing the rest of us. Big Tech has aligned itself with Democrats. It has been working to influence election results. Do the wealthy think they will be safe in their gated mansions while the rest of the country is destroyed?
