WASHINGTON D.C. (WKOW) -- The U.S House of Representatives is expected to approve the Senate's version of the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief plan as early as Tuesday.
The American Rescue Plan, which passed the Senate this weekend, includes $1,400 stimulus checks for most Americans, which the White House says they could get by the end of the month. Individuals who earn less than $75,000 a year, and couples who earn less than $150,000, will receive a check, plus an additional $1,400 per dependent.
The plan also extends the $300 weekly unemployment benefits and temporarily raises the child tax credit, now at a maximum of $2,000, to as much as $3,600 per child annually.
Tens of billions of dollars will also fund vaccines and distribution, schools, state, and local governments.
