Chef Nathan Tate, the culinary whiz behind beloved restaurants Boulevardier, Rapscallion, and Hillside Tavern, is cooking up a hot sauce to raise funds to pay for medical treatment for his son Cameron, who was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year. The sauce is made with smoked red jalapenos, then aged for about a month in charred oak barrels.
Tate’s already sold through one batch of sauce, but is currently taking pre-orders for a second, which is expected to be ready in a month.
