(KNSI) - Non-profits across the state are hoping people open their wallets today for Give to the Max Day.
For the last 12 years the website GiveMN.org has connected donors to thousands of non-profit organizations.
Organizers say Give M-N has been successful because it's a one-stop shop. Donors can browse potential recipients by mission or location, and learn whether matching gifts are available. Then, they give what they want to as many as they want.
Random prizes are also awarded. Every 15 minutes today, will be a Golden Ticket giveaway where organizations will get an extra $500. There will also be a $1000 Golden Ticket awarded each hour, with a $10,000 super sized Golden Ticket given away at the end of the day.
Give to the Max day goes for 24 hours and folks are encouraged to show their generosity and donate to nonprofit groups, charities and schools throughout the state.
More than $21 million dollars was raised in 2019.
