CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Food Bank or Wyoming and its partners across the state are working together to provide meals for the holidays with Gobble Gobble Give. Gobble Gobble Give is a statewide fundraiser and canned food drive to help those living in that community.
“Something really unique about Wyoming is we’re the only state that could probably pull-off a statewide canned food drive and fun-drive. Not many states can say ‘our whole state’s participating’ and we can say that,” said Ashley Nickolai, the Community Relations Lead for Food Bank of Wyoming.
Food Bank of Wyoming kicked off this fundraiser about two weeks ago. So far, they have raised enough to provide almost 10 thousand meals. The overall goal is to be able to provide 123,000 meals. Food Bank of Wyoming has over 60 partners across the state that are serving as drop off locations and donation centers. You can also donate by clicking here. One dollar can provide four meals.
“During the holidays, our antennas pick up a little more, we’re a little bit more keen to food insecurity and a little bit more aware of what’s going around for our neighbors and friends and family who are not able to feed themselves or put food on the table for Thanksgiving or Christmas,” said Nickolai.
The last day to donate to Gobble Gobble Give is November 24th.
