Stillman College secured more than $88,000 during Give 1876, its annual online fundraising event.
This is nearly $35,000 more than the college raised last year and the majority of the funds will go toward scholarships.
“Our students in different schools and programs will benefit greatly,” said Stillman Development Director Tyler Davidson. “The success of our giving day will give them what they need to be successful inside and outside the gates of Stillman College.”
Stillman’s Day of Giving began Nov. 3 and lasted “1 day, 8 hours, 76 minutes of giving,” which is in relation to Stillman’s founding year, 1876.
Give 1876 was designed to connect students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters in order to help meet student needs.
Through its new Day of Giving site, Stillman surveyed supporters and gained a significant number of first-time donors.
“This campaign did a lot to get the name ‘Stillman College’ out there,” Davidson said. “I’m excited to learn who our new supporters are and to begin connecting with them.”
