Report: Nets willing to give up anyone besides Kevin Durant in potential trade for James Harden - Chron

The Brooklyn Nets are willing to give the Rockets anyone on their roster not named Kevin Durant – and that includes Kyrie Irving – plus three first-round picks in a deal for James Harden, according to FS1’s Nick Wright.

FROM MATT YOUNG: James Harden breaks Rockets, then says team isn't fixable

Irving left the team earlier this month due to personal reasons and recently was spotted at a club at what appears to be his sister’s birthday party and likely will have to quarantine.

The Athletic's Shams Charania reports the Rockets are evaluating Harden trade offers from both the Nets and 76ers and a deal with either team "could culminate quickly." According to the New York Times' Marc Stein, the Rockets are pursing a trade package from the 76ers that would be headlined by Ben Simmons and Tyrese Maxey.

In Wright’s Twitter thread Wednesday in which he reported “there has been legitimate movement on the Harden front”, he also said “If Houston demanded Kyrie, they could have him, but the belief is Houston isn’t interested in Kyrie.”

So, where does that leave a potential deal?

The Nets have other promising young players, including 26-year-old Caris LeVert and 22-year-old Jarrett Allen. When talks of Harden demanding a trade to Brooklyn first surfaced, Spencer Dinwiddie was thought to be a key potential piece of any deal, but he tore his ACL and is out for the season. That doesn’t exclude him from being part of a trade package, but certainly makes him less desirable.

THE EXPLANATION: Why LeBron James took that disrespectful no-look 3-pointer against the Rockets

Wright also notes that the Nets are working to get a third team involved to enhance the return for the Rockets.

Things may start moving quicker on a Harden trade after the Rockets star threw gasoline on an already raging fire. After Tuesday night's blowout loss to the Lakers, Harden gave what seemed like a farewell statement.

“I love this city,” Harden said. “I’ve literally done everything that I can. The situation is crazy. It’s something I don’t think can be fixed, so ... yeah ... thanks.”
