LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts give an update on the state’s COVID-19 response Friday morning, attending remotely in accordance with state policy, but noting he had tested negative.
The governor attended the briefing remotely as he is in quarantine after a work contact he spent time with Saturday tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday. Ricketts said Friday — five days into his quarantine — that he had tested negative.
The state received a bump in Moderna vaccine dose allotments this week, and Ricketts said the state was expecting to get an increase in Pfizer doses later in the month.
Health districts across Nebraska are working to get the state’s older populations vaccinated, Central Health Departments were vaccinating those ages 90 and older last week and ages 80 and older this week; Douglas County is vaccinating those 70 years old and older, he said.
Angie Ling, incident commander for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, gave an update on the state’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution.
